found their voice, as sleeping giants who are now awake, caffeinated on activism, ready to persuade or react to the other side, if there are sides at all."

As winter gives way to spring, it will be very interesting to see how all the raw emotion in evidence this season plays out. Americans are experiencing a level of anxiety unprecedented in my lifetime, and how this anxiety transforms itself into election results, economic behavior, or social discord will have

consequences for years to come. Perhaps the ‘ship-of-state’ will right itself once the flowers begin to bloom and the backyard grills begin to sizzle once more as citizens venture outdoors again. I doubt, however, that this winter’s discontent will dissipate very easily under the warming rays of the summer sun.

It all depends on what happens next.
